Villa D'Este Garden

One of the great places to visit in Tivoli is Villa D'este Garden.  It is a great Villa looking down the Tivoli valley.  Villa D'este is known for it is incredible Garden.  This villa was built as a summer home, which is probably an explanation of it’s beauty.  

Villa Adriana

Villa Adriana was built around 117 AD as an Imperial Place in Tivoli near  Roma.  Villa Adriana is a preserved ruin with  an extensive collection of architectural treasure and art.  Visiting Tivoli was such a pleasant experience, from the busy and crowded Roma.   

Caserta Royal Place

I visited Caserta Royal Place, it is about 1 hour of driving from Napoli. It is an incredible palace, designed for Bourbon King of Napoli. Outside, the garden somewhat similar to the Versailles Palace. While I walked around the series of rooms in the palace, I felt like I am in an Interior Design History book. 

It's ROMA !

We stopped by Roma for 4 days on our way to Cortona. This is ROMA, what more can I say. A city filled with the treasures of human history.

One day I stopped by a wonderful looking cathedral, I was so amazed with the Roman Gothic Architectureand arts in the cathedral. I tried to find a name of the cathedral on the map, this cathedral is not even in the map. I bet if they list all the cathedrals on a map all you will see are the churches, no room for the streets of the city.   

Scooter trip in Capri

We went to Sorrento, it is a beautiful harbor town.  I took a ferry to cross the bay to Capri.  It is the picture perfect little island.  I rented a scooter to explore the island.  It was a great way to see the island, but it was a very dangerous road trip, narrow roads and impatient drivers.  Yikes....  

Discovering Pompei

We had a trip to Pompei.  Very well managed ruins from ancient Rome.  But it was disappointing; all the preserved frescos are blocked or locked from public view.      

Day ONE @ Napoli

Day one started with trip to Napoli; visited two museums, fascinating art and the architecture blew me away. After some long hours of walking through the museums my back began to ache, even though I felt the need to go on further, a definite sign of my age.
