Le Celle

I took my students to Le Celle, Franchescan Monastery on the hillside of Cortona. Le Celle is about 2 Km from Cortona through beautiful hiking trail. "LE CELLE", where St. Francis of Assisi spent a part of his monastic life.

My favorite Flower

Region of Toscana is filled with sunflower fields. Yes.... I love sunflower, it is my favorite flower. Wonder why I feel home here in Cortona. Certainly miles and miles of sunflower fields take my breath away.

I got an apartment at Via S. Benedeto 19.  My apartment is very spacious and well furnished place.   It has a wonderful view of Camucia valley.

Perugia

One memory of Perugia is the Underground Medieval city.  Perugia developed the underground city into Archeological museum and Art gallery.    

 

Visiting Assisi

We had a field trip to Assisi in the Umbria region, the birthplace of St. Francis. Assisi is an incredible little town on a hillside with stacked medieval houses and buildings.  One building that stands out is the Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi, which is a World Heritage sites.
